Welcome to the Paws Around Town Monthly Newsletter
Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a great 4th of July! Paws Around Town had an entry in the LibertyFest Parade in downtown Edmond, OK. (Edmond is a suburb of Oklahoma City). There were about 50,000 people there watching us. Everyone who works at Paws Around Town pushed their strollers in the parade. All my best friends rode with their moms. Our moms did a great job decorating our strollers in red, white and blue and everyone clapped for us. It was very hot that day so I wanted to pass on some great tips for staying cool this summer.
* Make sure there is an extra large bowl of fresh cool water available at all times.
* Never, ever leave pets in a parked car. The temperature can get over 130 degrees in less than 5 minutes.
* Buy a shallow wading pool and let your dog splash around in it.
(Supervise them at all times.)* Take your daily walks early in the morning or late in the evening, avoiding the hot sun.
* If your dog must be left outside, make sure there is a large tree or covered patio for shade.
* Use mist on sunscreen, if your dog will be outside for long periods of time.
* Use a Cool Bed for indoor/outdoor use. (See Travel and Outdoor Section)
I hope these tips help. If you think your pet is in distress, contact your vet immediately.

Well, that’s all for this month. If you missed last month’s newsletter you can read it by clicking on June 2006, in the Paws Newsletter section.
Enjoy the summer!
